ISRO announced and successfully launched the GSLV-F17 mission after my last blog post. I am not claiming my blog post had any role in the launch or the success thereafter. Only, that the launch happened.

It’s been gloomy all day – the kind of August day that’s hot, humid and still, sapping all your energy because nothing *actually* cools you off except real air conditioning (or standing in front of the refrigerator), not even taking a cold shower in the afternoon. There's going to be an eclipse tomorrow. I didn't go to Spain or Iceland. Looking again at the map that I looked at when I decided not to go, I see that I didn't go to Iceland because average cloud cover is 73%, and I didn't go to Spain because totality will be near sunset, and even in places where it mostly clear, clouds at the horizon are more likely than clouds at the zenith.
