It's the sixth of September already, somehow. Summer finally feels as though it's at an end, with the temperature outside right now a chilly +9C°, and the overcast sky a slate pewter with a biting wind. This is my absolute favourite kind of weather—no worries of sunburn and heatstroke. Of course, this is merely temporary, as we're going to reach a sunny high of +23C° on Wednesday. Giving the living room a fall makeover.
This is why I don't want to do any cleaning/home stuff on Friday. I just don't have the motivation! Malvaltar mentioned in the comments the other day that the inaccessible part of the city of Hethereau, to the east of the river, had been redeveloped. It's a large area, easily as big as any of the existing districts, and it's been there since the game started but we've never been able to go there.

This week was the lead up to and start of our road trip. I enjoy road trips a lot. Driving through Oregon and Northern California is a delight. Went out with colleagues after work. So far, every outing with them has been hiking up buildings to buy drinks on rooftops.
Walked through Gothenburg's summer festival on its first day & thought to drop by again over the weekend. But the rain kept me away. I have yet to shed my Angeleno ways.

It's already 4 weeks since the end of this year's edition of Nowe Horyzonty film festival in Wrocław, and I'm finally ready to post some recap of what I saw.

The two-player boardgame Kahuna has a Polynesian archipelago with some amateurishly named islands. The names are just four-letter words, each starting with a unique letter in sequence: A (Aloa), B (Bari), C (Coco), D (Duda). Polynesian languages typically are written using the letter ‘k’, but there’s Coco (perhaps inspired by coconut?). Aloa looks like it was inspired by aloha and Kahu by Kahuna.

It would have been more fun to be my 66 2/3 birthday, but I will be busy that day at the big square dance that I run every year in Western Mass. While many of the attendees are nerds, I think this amount of nerditude may go beyond their tolerances, so I do not intend to celebrate it then.
