One of the things I’ve most read about Dolly Parton in posts online is that people say there will never be anyone as good as her. I have pondered that ever since I read the first couple posts. Yes, there might not be anyone like her ever again, she was the embodiment of good, or, as Jad Abumrad says in this video, she was the Unicorn of Unicorns. But her death doesn’t mean all good she did has to disappear. A lot of people can step up and do good in her honour. A lot of people can be a unicorn to the world, to to stay in the video’s analogy. Even in the smallest way? As for me, I can think of no better good than helping children love books, because teaching kids to love books is dear to my heart as well. It’s not active in my country so I will find a charity in my country that does that work, and donate to them. Maybe I will go to a thrift store, buy a lot of children’s books and create a little free library. My ideas aren’t solid yet, but I will do something. If you are higher energy than I am, maybe you can find somewhere in your community where you can do good? Let’s all make the world as good as she did, one act of kindness at a time.
