I love MMOs. Back in a day I was in every beta test and while paying sub and sometimes even buying the game was quite often out of my capabilities I still played a lot of MMOs. One of the main issues was the time consumption, which lead to me skipping a few years in single player games history and partially made me stop with MMOs. I just wanted to catch up with some other games and preferred to not lose touch with single player games and tried to touch grass some more, getting my life in the rig…

Its summer (still) which means book reading times for many.
Here are a few books I remember from the top of my head (which means they must have been influential to me). No specific order. Title and something I remember from that book.

Look at the biggest number first if you want to make an impact.
The attention fix - Anders Hansen

Behold, it is I, the guy who continues to play new shiny videogames instead of sticking to my ongoing playthroughs.
I’ve written before about my ongoing games, which games I would start over instead of resuming, why I abandoned them, and the like.
This post will be different. Not a list of games, not excuses as to why I stopped playing them. My plan is to share with you exactly where I stopped playing and trying to remember what I was doing and where I was going! So, an excercise on my own memor…

I previously wrote about some adventures I was having with visitors to my site being blocked while attempting to post comments. I had a hypothesis at the time that the problem was related to a Cloudflare feature called Browser integrity check (BIC). However, I believe I’ve now disproven that as the (primary) cause: the real culprit appears to be a plug-in for WordPress called Dam Spam.

It was my birthday yesterday! Thought I'd take this opportunity to just do a quick rundown of events on or around my birthday and say that I'm happy I'm still alive and writing about it. How's that?
My typical birthday celebration consisted of two things: Eating at Spaghetti Factory and watching an IMAX film. Although I didn't do either of those things yesterday, I did see a movie a couple days before and eat at ye' old Spaghetti Factory three weeks ago, so . . . it still counts!

We're only on the 5th day of Blaugust and I'm already struggling to think of something to write about. I went through the list of prompts and nothing is standing out there either. I think I'll just do a little freewriting (freewheeling?) today and see how it goes.
Let's start with some music I've been loving lately:

I'm munching on shrimp chips as I write this. Both sushi restaurants I've been to serve these, while none of the ones I went to in LA did. This puffy variant doesn't read as Japanese to me, but I suppose when the menu lists pho and panang curry alongside its sushi and sashimi, there really aren't any boundaries.
Swedes like to ask me what I think of the Asian food here, and I'm never sure what to say. It's all good? The flavor's a little different, but I don't have the vocabulary to describe it.…

I started this blog in July 2025, but only really got started with posting on it in August, so we can say it's been approximately a year since I started. So I thought I'd look to see if there's any conclusions that can be drawn from my blog stats. The answer is... not really?

I picked up Final Fantasy XIV sometime mid-2022.1 I was finishing the final year of my Master degree, except I already knew I would be repeating it, because very little was done. I was in the middle of an internship that was remote and not really my cup of tea. In the middle of all this stress, my gender was having a stroke too. There was no better time for me to fall for a massive time-sink of an MMORPG with free trial up to level 60 including the award-winning Heavensward expansion, and so I d…

When it comes to talking up my favorite games, I try as often as possible to not demean another adjacent title as a way to drive home that argument because it’s the most menial of punch-downs possible. Even if I may feel that way in some cases. Just because World of Warcraft has never really been my jam doesn’t mean that shitting on it makes Final Fantasy XIV look better.
Even so, it’s hard not to do that when it comes to Palworld versus Pokemon because, for all intents and purposes that matter,…

I will say this; Planet Crafter moves along at a brisk pace. It is also good about laying out the next objective for you and giving you a way to see how fast you are progressing.
Certainly A Planet Crafter

I love bees, they are one of my favorite groups of animals, and they appear to be becoming increasingly popular in the cultural zeitgeist - lots of stickers, dishtowels, etc stating 'save the bees', and so on. Despite this, lots of laypeople seem to misunderstand bees fundamentally, which I guess is ok, they are an incredibly diverse group of insects. Any public positive interest in an insect is a win. I agree, AI words, images and video are extremely unsettling (to me). It's everything but human created. In fact the most non-human thing anyTHING (in this case, a computer) can generate.
It's like a fever dream. Or some well-detailed hallucination. The words I've read/heard from AI (via people using AI to narrate YouTube videos) has “enough” human-like mannerisms and gestures, but that makes it that much more perverse. I d…
