This counts Im my third entry for Blaugust, from looking at the date I wasn´t able to post cause life got in a way but its ok, I´m not going for all 31 days anyway. Im gonna keep this a short one, so I´ve been spending my days mostly weeding and prunning my new garden cause its a mess, its pretty obvious that it has been neglected for years before I moved in. As so happens it also comes with a watering tank, I had plans on cleaning it up, but then I took a look at it and well, its basically frog town in there. My apologies for the terrible photo quality, but you can see lots and lots of tiny little frogs in a row attached to the walls. There were also a bunch of tadpoles in there that I saw that have start growing legs and as the days pass by more and more of them are making the transition to frog. Honestly this the reason why I delayed cleaning it, cause I´d feel bad for them and how the heck I am I gonna go about capturing them with a net, and trasnfering the to some other place while I empty it? So, I´d figured I played the waiting and let them gain their mobile independence first and maybe they might be able to escape to some place. I suspect there´s some other body of water nearby because I keep hearing a lot of croaking nearby. Also I wanted to watch their development up close, its really fascinating how this animal goes from little swimming tadpole to just be able to hope around and be able to breath out of water. Never have I seen so many in one place. It didn´t took long until I found the culprit behind all of this. Parent of the year am I right? For the curious the frog species live is Pelophylax perezi, also known as Perez’s frog, but also commonly known as The Iberian Greenfrog. very common in the area. Jokes, aside dunno how do i move from here, I had plans to use the tank to water the plants and maybe even using it as an improvised minipool during the hotter days, but now I´m so sure. It would be cool if someone who also had an exeprience with a common situation how did they deal with this, or maybe they will leave on their own who knows. If anything else comes up I´ll post updates.
