In light of Blaugust, I've been looking over some of my past posts here to get ideas, and I've realized that...I love this blog. Sometimes I get self-conscious about my writing here, like it's not very good or interesting enough for anyone to want to read. And it is largely personal, largely for myself to be able to look back on and reminisce about times gone by. And that's exactly what I've been doing lately, so I suppose it's serving its purpose well. I've always said that the point of this blog is not necessarily to showcase my writing, although I do have some posts that are more poetic or deep and contemplative. Mostly, it's a simple public journal of sorts, a cathartic outlet where I don't edit myself too much. My more serious or creative writing is left for my portfolio. But this has become my home on the internet, and when I went back and read through some of my old posts, it made me a bit...I don't know, proud, maybe? I realized that I do like my writing, even in its simplest form, and more than that, I like who I am. This blog is my interests and personality all wrapped up together. It's probably the purest representation of who I am as a person. I'm 100% myself here, maybe more than anywhere else in life. It was a really positive experience, looking back over this blog, and I highly recommend revisiting your old posts whenever you get the chance.
