cornix This assembled keyboard just arrived through the post. It's called CORNIX LP. To be honest, I have a "corne" keyboard kit to be assembled for many years waiting for me to find time and dedication to tackle it, but, well, I just didn't. It's not that I sat empty handed being bored. Anyway, the other day I came across this offer online, and, apart from the fact that it is already assembled, it's also wireless. That just pushed me over. And now it's here and it is very hard to type on it - I mean, it's very tactile and silent, very beautiful, with a nice weight to it and all. But muscle memory just doesn't exist. My finger are clueless what is under them. It came with very dark low-profile keycaps. I want to use them. You can't really see the letters on them unless with a lot of light. I like that. It's been a very sexy attractive thing even when I saw 'happy hacking keyboard' with blank profiles. Stuff for... well, hackers, I guess. But I also ordered a surprise set of keycaps, and it's this style... of I don't know, they might be done with inspiration from Apple. Maybe not, I don't really know. So I changed them (most of them), so that I can see the keys. It's for the time of learning. Once I'll become good and it will become my main keyboard, I will switch them back to the dark, lower ones. So here we are. With so much on my plate (again), and I want to dedicate time to start learning and using a new keyboard with different layout. Not very rational direction of thinking. Also, did I mention I want to move away from QWERTY layout? No? Well, yes. I'm looking at Workman layout. That takes even more time to learn to type on it properly. I want to be very fast typer. Touch typist. So I can livecode really fast. And with changing the layout comes also customization in a million different apps. Emacs. SuperCollider in emacs (scel). i3 window manager. Movement in console. Also such a keyboard-centric setup probably calls for keyboard navigation plugin for the browser. And how to fix things regarding the mouse? My laptop does have touch-screen, so that helps a bit, but not too much! Call me cr..., well, definitely not normal! Thanks for reading.
